Remote Home Energy & HVAC Consulting

Green Spirit offers remote HVAC and home energy consulting for Minnesota homeowners who want a second opinion or help reviewing a project.

Contractor proposals do not always make it easy to compare equipment, design assumptions, controls, warranties, and excluded work. During a remote consultation, Nick can review those details before a homeowner chooses equipment or approves a scope.

What Nick can review

  • Second opinions on HVAC recommendations
  • Review and comparison of contractor quotes
  • Heat pump and equipment selection
  • Boiler and heat pump combinations
  • Cold-climate electrification planning
  • Remodel and addition HVAC strategies
  • Air-to-water heat pumps and hydronic systems
  • Multi-year home energy roadmaps

What to send before the meeting

Depending on the question, useful materials may include contractor proposals, equipment model numbers, energy audit reports, floor plans, utility history, and photos or video of the existing equipment. Include a short description of the problem you are trying to solve.

Nick will explain the differences between the options and point out questions to take back to the local contractor. He will also note when the decision requires a site visit or local trade professional.

Scope of remote consulting

Remote consulting is advisory. It does not replace local code review, permits, an on-site inspection, or installation by qualified contractors.

The initial service area is Minnesota. Expansion to the broader Upper Midwest may follow as the offering develops.
